Google re-targeting ads are a terrific way to get more traffic to your website. But not just any traffic. Re-targeting ads focus on people who've already visited your site and have left for whatever reason without completing a sale. This involves the usage of a conversion pixel for purchases and it's a great way to reach people who've already been to your site and aggressively market to them on Google's search engine shortly after they've left.
Some people will tell you that guest blogging is no longer effective, but with a strategic approach, guest blogging can still be one of the best ways to generate website traffic. The most important thing is to blog on sites that are relevant to your audience so that you generate high-quality traffic. Offer a lead magnet to entice new visitors over to your website, and return the favor by asking other writers to guest post on your site too, then share that content on social media. Don’t limit yourself to written posts either -- podcasts, Instagram takeovers and YouTube guest appearances are all highly effective in 2018 and beyond.

If you’re a B2B company, partnerships can be a great way to drive relevant traffic that is ready to convert to your site. This has been a major way Credo has grown. Begin with outreach to sites that have written roundups of alternatives for your competitors and see if they’d like to include your site. Bonus points for getting them to add you at the top.

If you want to ensure that the traffic you are driving with your AdWords is almost ready to buy what you’re selling, then your ads should be as straightforward as possible. Including the price, shipping fees or discounts in your search ad copy can go a long way to ensure people who do click through are those potential shoppers who are willing to pay your prices, and ultimately more ready to make a buying decision then and there.
When you’re just starting out, you’ll need to focus on finding keywords that represent your niche to base your blog content and store pages on. Typically, you’ll choose to focus on one or two main keywords per webpage. You can use SEO tools like Keywords Everywhere to help you find relevant keywords. In the beginning, focus on keywords that have the search volume of under 10,000 searches a month. After a few months of creating blog content and optimizing product pages, you can then focus on going after higher volume keywords. The trick to getting website traffic is to build a strong foundation of relevant keywords first. Be sure to take advantage of the blog on your online store as it can have the biggest impact on driving organic traffic to your website.
Hi, what we need to know in details is how to geo-target particular “blog post” or “Page” (as I have learnt that creating the post in page ranks faster). While writing Post in blogger can we use the location part and change the country, will that help? What If I want to work only on the Post and target particular country and Also can we target the specific number of countries (like US and Aus) simultaneously in a post? Pardon my ignorance if you already have an article on this particular topic, but am unable to find it in your website.
You have listed out all the great things. I am doing SEO for an inbound travel agency based in India. Target country is US but business is based in India. I find it difficult to get listed in local business in US. Similar way the google places listing is also on India based address as company is based in India. What is the best way in your opinion in situation like this ?
Excellent post Brian. I think the point about writing content that appeals to influencers in spot on. Could you recommend some good, manual strategies through which I can spot influencers in boring niches *B2B* where influencers are not really talking much online? Is it a good idea to rely on newspaper articles to a feel for what a particular industry is talking about? Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
Google recommends that when you are starting your first remarketing campaign, you begin by targeting everyone who viewed your homepage. Just remember, that will increase your Google remarketing costs since your ads are being retargeted to more individuals, and you won’t be able to create ads that are quite as targeted. By targeting more narrowly, you can therefore increase ad relevancy and lower your cost per click.
Great article, learned a lot from it! But I still really get it with the share trigger and right content. For instance, the influencers now care a lot about the new Koenigsegg Agera RS >> https://koenigsegg.com/blog/ (Car). I thought about an article like “10 things you need to know about the Koenigsegg Agera RS”. The only problem is that I don’t know which keywords I should use and how i can put in share triggers.
Once fake traffic has been directed to your site, or you have personally decided to buy it, you need to notice huge changes on your site. The most devastating effect on your site is when you are caught by Google or any other search engine. The search engine may block your index and also Google suspends your AdSense account. The bounce rate for your site may increase up to 90% or more, and this means the number of real visitors reduces dramatically.

Advocacy – This phase of the marketing funnel only became apparent since the last 5 years or so. Advocacy means that your customers love you so much, they talk about you to others without you asking them. Customers who have experienced your brand in a positive manner will want to follow you on their preferred social platform. More than that, they’ll help amplify your content by sharing it – because they’re madly in love with you
I feel I have great content…but most of it is within my email marketing campaign instead of my blogs. I’ve used my blogs to include links to my email marketing campaigns to lead to my product. In your opinion, should my blog content be the priority? I find my marketing emails sound more like a blog than just a “tip” or a reason to grab people to my list.
If you haven’t used software like BuzzSumo to check out what your competitors are up to, you’re at a huge disadvantage. These services aggregate the social performance of specific sites and content to provide you with an at-a-glance view of what topics are resonating with readers and, most importantly, making the rounds on social media. Find out what people are reading (and talking about), and emulate that kind of content to bring traffic to your website.
SEO: Search-engine optimization (SEO) refers to everything you can do to make your website more visible on search engines like Google. The majority of web traffic comes from people clicking on the first few unpaid search results that come up in a search, so it can be a very valuable tool. To find out what you can do to improve your site’s SEO, see our post on SEO Basics.
Website speed is a big factor that's related to relevancy. Your site is far more relevant if it loads quickly. To that end, find a good content-delivery network (CDN) you can incorporate such as Amazon's CloudFront or other services. CDNs help to spread your content across servers all over the world and serve them to the nearest visitor. Also, reduce and optimize images and use a service like Oleg Schegolev's SEMRush to help identify performance issues with your site's speed.
The web is built on links, and web users routinely use links to find the information they need. When a site links to your site, web users follow those links, resulting in web traffic, or referral traffic. When these backlinks, also called inbound links, come from high quality sites, they also tell Google your content is authoritative and trustworthy. This is important because inbound links from respected sites are an SEO ranking factor, so they can boost organic traffic, too.
