You can increase traffic from YouTube by creating YouTube ads, adding links to your description, adding annotation links to your video, or by getting other YouTubers to share your links on their videos. By creating a new video at least once a week, consistently and over the long haul, you’ll be able to drive more traffic back to your website. If you don’t have an audience yet, you can reach out to YouTubers with sizable audiences and ask them to become affiliates or pay their fee. This could work well in the short-term but it’s always a good idea to try to build out your own channels to lower your acquisition costs.

The web is built on links, and web users routinely use links to find the information they need. When a site links to your site, web users follow those links, resulting in web traffic, or referral traffic. When these backlinks, also called inbound links, come from high quality sites, they also tell Google your content is authoritative and trustworthy. This is important because inbound links from respected sites are an SEO ranking factor, so they can boost organic traffic, too.
If you are selling in multiple countries, then consider posting ads in their native tongue. Google will not translate ads, but AdWords does allow ecommerce advertisers to target around 38 languages. In other words, you can effectively speak to those potential shoppers in their own language, while Google matches your search ads to those users whose browser interface language matches the language of the ad.
If you are looking to drive more traffic to your site, you should start utilizing different SEO tools and keyword research tactics. You need to analyze the different terms that your personas are using to search for solutions to their pain points. These tools are great resources to get a better understanding of what is being searched, and how difficult it is to rank for those terms. Once you analyze that information, you can start utilizing these terms in your blogging strategy to start driving the right qualified traffic to your site.
In my latest ebook, I talked about some of my secrets when it comes to competitor analysis. Whenever I start a new online store, I’m always curious to know the main traffic sources of my competitors. This helps me understand which marketing channels I should prioritize. I sometimes use the free Alexa tool. All you need to do is type in your competitors website, scroll to “Upstream sites,” and look at the list of websites that were visited immediately before landing on your competitor’s website. If you see that Google tends to be the top choice, then you need to focus on Google Ads and SEO. If Facebook is the top website then you know you’ll need to create Facebook ads. Or if a niche blog is the highest source of traffic you can then focus on building out an outreach strategy to collaborate with that blog.

I’m a big advocate of quality. It’s so much more important than frequency. In my experience, one great piece a month will get much better results than a so-so post once a week. But if you don’t want to reduce your frequency, you could try creating a format or series of posts that are easier to create, like interviews. This can fill in the weeks in between while you write something with more impact. Mix it up! 🙂
Hi Brian! I enjoy reading your posts and use as much info as I possibly can. I build and sell storage sheds and cabins. The problem I have is that there are no top bloggers in my market or wikipedia articles with deadlinks that have to do with my market. 95% of my traffic and sales are generated via Facebook paid advertising. Would love to get more organic traffic and would be interested in your thoughts concerning this.
The most basic and straightforward way is to use Google Analytics. And I'm not just talking about installing Google Analytics. I'm talking about using the UTM (short for Urchin Tracking Module, which relates to the old Urchin analytics system that Google acquired to create its tracking tool) variables that exist in Google's Analytics to ensure that you know where they're coming from.
Creating valuable content... aka Blog Blog Blog! You want to build a blogging strategy that hones in on your prospects pain points, so you can start addressing their problems with valuable content. If you utilize some high value keywords you found in #5 above, you will start popping up in search results when your prospects are searching for those problems.
This one is so obvious, we’re going to look at it first. Paid search, social media advertising and display advertising are all excellent ways of attracting visitors, building your brand and getting your site in front of people. Adjust your paid strategies to suit your goals – do you just want more traffic, or are you looking to increase conversions, too? Each paid channel has its pros and cons, so think carefully about your objectives before you reach for your credit card.
The great thing about the Internet is that you can publish any type of content you want. By creating longer form content like courses that are targeted around both user needs and specific keyword phrases (don’t forget keyword research!), you can drive more traffic to your site and convert them into email addresses that you can then take down your funnel.
"We started to experiment buying website traffic a few months ago. We tried several different companies that were worthless and their traffic was untrackable or nonexistent. We then tried SEO WEBSITE TRAFFIC and immediately saw the difference. The traffic shows up perfectly in Google Analytics so we could see that the traffic they were sending was 100% genuine. Better still was the fact that the visitors we received loved our site and kept returning. We now purchase a traffic package every month from SEO WEBSITE TRAFFFIC to increase our visitor base."
Historical refreshes of content is a good thing, especially if some of your content has expired. Note, this does not mean re-doing your content; simply refreshing it to bring it current if it isn't already evergreen content. Look at ways you can update outdated content on your site to drive more traffic through visibility on search engines like Google.
Pinterest is one of the best ways to get website traffic flowing. By pinning your products and blog content multiple times a week, Pinterest traffic can potentially outperform powerhouses like Facebook. All it takes is for one pin to go viral to get an endless stream of traffic to your website. If you’re sharing a blog post, you can pin all of the images within the post. Why is this impactful? It gives you multiple opportunities to have a pin take off. One of your pictures could potentially outperform the rest. As a result, you could drive even more traffic back to your website. Say you want to promote a product page. You can upload custom pictures to entice click through to your website if the product photos on that page aren’t the most inspiring. To increase website traffic from Pinterest, you can try the Pinoculars app which re-targets visitors on Pinterest.

Distribution: If you’re getting a lot of traffic on one social media platform, but that isn’t crossing over to your website, you may want to think about strengthening the connection between your website and your social media accounts. When you create and post content in one place, it’s important to spread the word everywhere and cross-promote across platforms to keep your audience from fracturing. Also, be sure to include links to relevant pages on your site in your social media posts — and include links to your social media accounts on your site — so visitors can easily like and follow you on social media, right from your site.

If you have spaces for advertising on your website, you can increase your profits by allowing other websites to put pay-per-click ads on your site as you have on others. Then, not only might the visitors who come to your site purchase your products, but they could also click on some of the ads and make you even more money. After all, once you pay for that traffic increase, you’ll be able to show potential ad placers that you get enough traffic to your site to be a good investment. If you have room for enough ads, once you really build traffic, you may be able to offset the cost of your traffic by charging for theirs. In order to avoid scamming when it comes to pay-per-click ads though, it’s a good idea to charge a conversion fee on top of the click fee. This way, you can low ball the click fee to get advertisers to your site, but then charge them extra for each click that makes a purchase on their site. This recent change in pay-per-click has come about because of manipulative people making invalid clicks on ads in order to boost ad revenue with fake visitors.

There is some talk amongst SEO experts and gurus how CTR could be the biggest SEO factor of them all. That Google ranks sites high in the SERPs by which ones are clicked on the most and not by how many backlinks they have or how great their on-page SEO is. That does help but there is indeed some direct correlation in this claim as it makes sense since Google wants to rank the best, most perfect choice for a searcher and one way of knowing that, is by ranking the site that gets the most clicks highest in the SERPs.

Thanks for a this timely article. If I understand it correctly, are you saying that we would better be off looking at market data in our niche and make an article of that for influencers to share rather than actionable tips that the target clients would be interested in? Shouldn’t there be a double strategy – articles for the influencers to share and articles for the users to enjoy?
Brian, I’ve drunk your Kool aid! Thank you for honesty and transparency – it really gives me hope. Quick question: I am beyond passionate about a niche (UFOs, extraterrestrials, free energy) and know in my bones that an authority site is a long term opportunity. The problem today is that not many products are attached to this niche and so it becomes a subscriber / info product play. However, after 25+ years as an entrepreneur with a financial background and marketing MBA, am I Internet naive to believe that my passion and creativity will win profitability in the end? The target audience is highly passionate too. Feedback?
