For a website to be successful it all starts with landing pages that convert well and have high conversion rates. This means that a high percentage of the people that visit your website also actually perform a desired action. A desired action could be the purchase of a product, a membership registration, newsletter subscriptions or clicking on an advertisement, but it can also be any action that you want your visitors to do that goes beyond simple web browsing.
Stickers are essentially mini-posters, and advertisers have been using them for decades to get the word out without technically breaking the law. They hand them out to teams who then go out and plaster them over public buildings, bus stops and street signs. When the authorities complain, they say “oh, we only gave them to our customers. We have no control over where they put them.”
Let’s say you have a social media representative who’s out there sharing your content and talking to people about your brand. The rep has a major advantage over your brand Page, because he or she can “friend” people and message them right off the bat. On the other hand, Facebook has made contacting your Page or Group followers an increasingly intricate dance.

Display traffic is traffic to your site from ads or banners on other sites. For example, you might pay for placement of a banner on a related site, or run an affiliate program where the ads link back to your site. Display traffic contrasts with organic traffic, which comes from search engines, and paid traffic, which comes from programs like AdWords. If you want to attract display traffic, consider hiring a graphic design expert to create attractive, click-worthy banners.
Thanks for sharing these great tips last August! I’ve recently adopted them and I have a question (that’s kind of connected to the last post): how important would promoting content be when using this strategy? For example, through Google Adwords. As I guess that would depend on the circumstances, but I am trying to discover if there’s a ‘formula’ here. Thanks in advance!

Okay, so that gives you a sense of the general areas that your traffic will come from and how you should go about tracking your traffic. There are several web traffic referral sources. Organic traffic comes from search engines. Referral traffic comes from other websites. Display traffic comes from ads for your business on other sites. Paid traffic comes from promotions via sites like AdWords. Social traffic comes from social media sites. Each type of traffic can be further divided into individual traffic sources. For example, organic traffic can come from Google, Bing, or other search engines. And social traffic can come from a variety of sites.
Google has several predefined interest groups that are available for targeting. Google will place individual users into interest groups based on their web behavior. The interest targeting is further segmented into “In-Market” and “Affinity” interest groups. Google has determined that users within the “In-Market” interest groups are closer to a purchase – i.e. are “in the market” for a particular service or product. For example, if I select the in-market interest group of Apartments for Rent, Google has determined that I am actively looking for an apartment to rent.

In the early days of the web, site owners could rank high in search engines by adding lots of search terms to web pages, whether they were relevant to the website or not. Search engines caught on and, over time, have refined their algorithms to favor high-quality content and sites. This means that SEO is now more complex than just adding the right words to your copy.
One of the simplest things to do that most people don’t actually do is send consistent email marketing to their customers who have given their email address. Whether this is a weekly newsletter or a daily piece of content to teach and sell, this is the best way to keep your users engaged. The best part is that once you set it up once, your customers will all see that same content.
Sure, Facebook has its ups and downs when it comes to finding targeted traffic – especially in the B2B realm. But there is a flip side to this: People are willing to share content freely and to engage with total strangers. Rather than jumping right in with your company’s Facebook Page, you can join relevant FB Groups and start sharing valuable content.

In our experience, you need a budget of several thousand dollars to test the waters; a regular budget of somewhere between $500 and $1500 per month, or every other month. You should budget a larger percentage to continue purchasing sources of traffic that work for your site. Also budget a small percentage of your marketing wallet for experiments, to find new sources, and tap into new marketing channels. next: Part 2 – PPC pay-per-click campaigns

You want to have a site that’s optimized for maximum traffic attraction and conversion, which isn’t always possible for people who build their websites on their own. You simply have to have that kind of expertise on such matter or you could use a tool. It’s your choice.

It’s become even more important now thanks to the mobile sector, where there are plenty of prospective clients compared to the computer scene. While different search engines do come with select distinctions in their algorithms that affect how many regular visitors your site gets, the way to optimize your website for all of them are generally the same. You just need to make sure that you have the right keywords, have great links on your site, and excellent content.
YouTube is a powerful medium. We all know that. But, how many people are confident enough to put themselves out there and create YouTube videos? Not many. But, considering how much reach YouTube has, and the fact that it's the number two search engine in the world behind Google, more people should leverage this platform. Find ways to make instructional videos that add loads of value. And do it often.

But we have a better way and would like to talk to you about it.
